TV on the Radio announce first shows in more than 5 years

After posting a mysterious teaser, TV on the Radio have now made a big announcement. They’re celebrating the 20th anniversary of their 2004 debut album Desperate Youth, Bloodthirsty Babes with an expanded reissue, and they announced their first shows in over five years: four nights at NYC’s Webster Hall, three nights at LA’s El Rey Theatre, and three nights at London’s Islington Assembly Hall.

The reissue comes out November 15 via the band’s original label, Touch and Go Records, and it includes five bonus tracks: a demo of “Staring at the Sun,” their 2004 single “New Health Rock,” “Modern Romance” (from the “New Health Rock” single), their 2005 online-only single “Dry Drunk Emperor,” and “Final Fantasy,” a 2004 demo of what became “Bomb Yourself” that you can hear below. Pre-orders are here.

The upcoming shows will feature Tunde Adebimpe, Kyp Malone and Jaleel Bunton, though Dave Sitek is unfortunately sitting them out. The NYC shows take place on November 25, 26, 29 & 30 at Webster Hall; LA on December 4, 5, and 7 at El Rey Theatre; and London on December 10, 11, and 12 at Islington Assembly Hall. Tickets go on sale Thursday, September 12 at 10 AM local time.
