Lizzo delivered a stunning performance of “About Damn Time” at the 2022 BET Awards over the weekend.
Her grand, dazzling performance opened with a projection of her face onto a clock, as a group of dancers introduced the song, dressed in gold. Lizzo then appeared on stage, also decked out in an amazing gold outfit. Before delivering a killer flute solo, Lizzo said “You know what time it is.” As the BET Awards performance progressed, Lizzo took part in moves from the accompanying TikTok dance.
“It’s about damn time we have fun,” Lizzo added toward the end of the track. “It’s about damn time we stand in our power. Black people, my people.”
