Kendrick Lamar announces first album in over five years ‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers’

Kendrick Lamar has officially announced his first album in more than five years, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.

The follow-up to DAMN is on the horizon in less than a month, as it’s out on May 13th. When Kendrick Lamar teased his “final TDE album” last summer, he signed the note “oklama,” posting it on oklama.com. Now, the exact same site has shared a press release “from the desk of oklama.”

Back in August, Kendrick Lamar teased Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, saying, “As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years.”

“I spend most of my days with fleeting thoughts. Writing. Listening. And collecting old Beach cruisers. The morning rides keep me on a hill of silence.

I go months without a phone.

Love, loss, and grief have disturbed my comfort zone, but the glimmers of God speak through my music and family.”
