Djo, the musical project of actor, producer, and songwriter Joe Keery—best known for his roles in Stranger Things and Fargo—has announced his highly anticipated new album, The Crux. Set to release on April 4th via AWAL, this album follows Djo's 2022 release, DECIDE, which featured the hit track "End of Beginning."
Alongside the announcement, Keery has unveiled the album's lead single, "Basic Being Basic." Featuring Oberheim OB-X8 synths and a falsetto-driven refrain, the song's closing verses cleverly critique the (often online) clichés of modern-day posturing. "It’s kind of a shot fired at anyone trying too hard to be trendy," Keery explains.
Djo will debut "Basic Being Basic" on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on January 28th, where Keery will also appear as a guest. Fans can pre-order The Crux now at djomusic.com. Listen to the new single HERE.
Djo has also announced a major 2025 global tour. The Djo - Back On You Tour will feature Post Animal as support on all North American, UK and EU tour dates.
